The water was high and muddy after several days of rain. So I had to head to two hunting grounds where I knew tires were lurking on the shore, under the Bill Thorpe walking bridge, and behind the Devon Park shopping centre on the north side. All the other easier ones I had staked out a few days ago were under water today. I usually pose with my tires under the tree out in my back yard, but the mosquitoes would swarm me and chew me to bits in June, especially after several days of rain. |

![]() Number 107 in its unnatural habitat. I had to remove several rocks and cut out a root to remove this old rotting truck tire. I suppose if I waited another hundred years, it would have rotted away to bits. What is the half-life of a tire on the shore, anyway? Its whitewall bosom buddy will have to wait for another day. |
