Saint John River, #s 118-124, September 18, 2009

Laurie Mazerolle poses with two car tires on top, two more car tires in the car, one on the ground, two monster truck tires in the car, and a very heavy and awkward truck tire inner tube on the ground.
trenchken (40K)
The truck tire inner tube was buried deep, and full of sand. It took at least an hour for us taking turns to shovel it out of the sandbar.

At last, I got around to removing the blight of seven old tires from the mouth of the stream that bears my name -- Corbett Brook. No relation, but it has taken on a syymbolic challenge to me. I couldn't have done it alone, thank goodness for the support of my cousin Laurie Mazerolle. I hope his parents weren't too dismayed when he came home filthy and wet. Hah!

Tire removal on the Saint John
Laurie poses on the shore before digging in to remove this truck tire from the Saint John.
We had to wait all summer long for the water level to drop before attempting the cleanup of the mouth of Corbett Brook.
